As London’s fastest-growing new gallery we see a natural synergy between a fine watch and a work of art. Our ethos centres around discovering exciting up-and-coming artists whose work is as rich in potential as it is in depth of meaning and raw human emotion.
In the same way as an edgy canvas by Panik or otherworldly piece by Rachel Chamberlain, a watch is quite literally a wearable piece of kinetic art, functional yet inherently beautiful with a value which cannot be quantified by price alone.
The Square Mile Watch Awards were launched in 2018 and are the first consumer awards in London purely focused on mechanical watchmaking. According to Square Mile, the awards ceremony was born of a vision “to help watch lovers of every age and experience decide on their next timepiece.”
Now entering their third year, the Square Mile Watch Awards have become a point of reference in the watch world. In the words of Square Mile, “the awards honour the industry’s top launches – from the finest technological innovations to the most impressive independent brands.”
The winning watches are chosen by an expert panel of 12 drawn from across the industry with the exception of the Readers’ Choice category which is selected by a public vote of Square Mile readers.
