IN THE EYE OF THE STORM: MONKEY PARLIAMENT

BANKSY’s Question Time was first exhibited in the 'BANKSY versus Bristol Museum' show in his home town in Summer 2009 and again as a one-off piece in 2019, some ten years later, this time with the new title of Devolved Parliament .

At the conclusion of that show (October 2019) BANKSY’s Devolved Parliament was sold at auction with Sotheby’s London for £9.9 million, against an estimate of £1.5-£2million in a prolonged bidding battle.

Devolved Parliament is radically different to the rest of BANKSY known works, typically stencilled spray-paint works.

Rumours have circulated for many years that the original oil on canvas was executed by a ‘ghost painter’.

Measuring 137.2 x 223.5 cm (54 x 88 in) in the artist's own frame and direct from his studio, Red 8 Gallery is delighted to present Mason Storm's Monkey Parliament, exclusively in our flagship gallery at 9 Cornhill in the City of London.
