Born in Bristol, England, in 1965, Damien Hirst is an English conceptual artist and entrepreneur. He pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art at Goldsmiths College from 1986 to 1989. Since then, he has achieved international acclaim and was honored with the prestigious Turner Award in 1995.
His works predominantly explore themes of death, rebirth, immortality, and beauty. In 1991, Damien Hirst initiated his notable series, 'Natural History.' This collection features preserved animals showcased in minimalist steel and glass tanks filled with formaldehyde solution. Among these works is "The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living," which includes a 14-foot tiger shark submerged in formaldehyde.
In his later creations, Hirst ventured into spin paintings produced by spin machines, resulting in vibrant circular artworks. These spin paintings are recognised for their vivid hues and distinctive forms and lines.
